It's been a real rollercoaster but at last we can start to see the positive results of the past few months upheaval. When we embarked upon this journey we wanted the transformation to be stunning and we are very happy with the results! Stylish and chique, yet comfortable. Keep checking this space as we will soon have the Tontine frontage, reception and hallway completed. The Adam Room is the last piece in the jigsaw to get the attention - scheduled for week starting Monday 25 April! Even better why not come and check us out in person?!!!
Thankfully we are now starting to see real progress with the refurb! The lounge is now 'almost' completed. Today we saw the new carpet get laid in the lounge. We had a large function in the evening - 70 guests in the Adam Room - so we used our almost completed 'coffee bar' as a 'bar' which worked very well indeed! The stunning sofas and some recovered chairs arrived just as the carpet was being laid. Comments from guests were great - all that I spoke to loved the changes ... in particular the blend of colours, the coffee bar and the 2 'new' chaise lounge.
We are now 3 weeks into the Tontine Refurb! These are some of the photos taken over this period. Thankfully we have been able to stay open with minimal disruption at critical points - thanks in the main to a good working relationship with the main contractors , interested and understanding customers and a great team! Many customers have commented on how they like the temporarily repurposed Adam room incorporating sofas and lovely coal fire! Although disruptive, often messy and sometimes noisy, the decorative work in the lounge and Bistro are now almost completed! The next step is hanging the wallpaper and painting and we should get both areas back in working order within the week.
